In our last Xing Yi class we spoke of integrating the Western esoteric traditionโ€™s idea of moving inย  spiritual practiceย  from being an acolyte, to an initiate, an adept, and a master. Here in Class #4 of the Xing Yi training we further define what it means to be and practice as a master.

What you may receive from this class:

  • Being a master in the Chinese Internal arts includes most fundamentally being humble. We discuss the concept of always being a beginner, โ€œZen Mind, Beginnerโ€™s Mind.โ€ Homage is paid to Master Ha who when endorsing one of my books, instead of signing it, Grandmaster Fong Ha, he simply signed it โ€œFong Ha, One who practices Tai Chi and Qigong.โ€
  • As always weโ€™ll review some of the basic Bodymind Healing Qigong movements. For example, openingย  the Penetrating Vessel (Chung Mai extraordinary vessel) through Qigong and Xing Yi practice. Also: Tonifying the internal organs, activating primordial chi (yuan chi) etc
  • Wang Xiangzhaiโ€™s, the founder of Yi Chuan Qigong,ย  contribution to Tai Chi, Xing Yi and Bagua and how that adds to the Self-cultivation aspects of Xing Yi.
  • Specific aspects of Xing Y postures such as: Stamping the foot, finding the dragon chi in the movements, etc.
  • Squaring the circle in Western mystery tradition is integrated with Xing Yi practice. Adding personal meaning, shape-shifting, and transmutation of oneโ€™s life stance through practicing Xing Yi to the four, eight and twelve directions of the zodiac to embody particular healing meanings.
  • Integrating the four dimensions of Purpose in Xing Yi practice (self-healing, spiritual unfoldment, self defense and changing oneโ€™s life stance psychologically). Cross-cultural analogies from the Kabalistic four dimensions of interpretation of the Torah โ€”Peshat (literal), Remez ( allusions, metaphors),ย  Derash Interpretation), and Sod (mystical).
  • Using the intention of various Acupressure points to bring out healing aspects of Xing Yi postures: For example Small Intestine 3 point when practicing the Metal element to develop โ€œspineโ€ in life.
  • Shape-shifting and postmodern dimensions of Xing Yi practice.Using the Xing Yi elements to help heal your unique issues.
  • The importance of practicing stillness (wuji qigong) before movements. How Standing Meditation qigong enhances Xing Yi practice.
  • Integrating martial and self defense aspects of Xing Yi postures with healing.
  • The practice of โ€œno practiceโ€ and its benefits for organ health and overall well-being.
  • Behind the five elements of Xingย  Yi: Reactivating the Golden Ball of Life.
